Nemoverse - Urban Fantasy
A campy Urban Fantasy set in fantasy NYC in a Sixth Borough of "Dananshy"(Gaelige: De Dannan Sidhe) colloquially called "the Mound." History: Fae and Humans live in the same space in time but in a seperate reality, kept apart a bubble like the outer shell of a seed, the Fae are a collection of non-humans linked to plants and trees, with their own culture, races and seasonal based political system. Time does not work the same way and most fae are genderless and immortal, though they can die of disease, and specific posions. Fae society is heavily face and family based with a hierachy of closeness based on one's name. There are four revolving courts that come to each part of the world for three months a year. Parts of the Fae world compare to the human world, which is where they bleed into our mythology for example the character Rowan is from the Aos Si in Irish mythology, he is courtborn, a kind of Gentry, his family are of the Autumn Court his parents descending from royalty but the courtborn system in his homeland was largely overthrown a few hundred years ago and now they have a Communist-esque Council based system called an equinoxy. Every Solstice the government changes their Taoiseach, and every Equinox there’s an election. Anyone who has been elected to the Teachta Daíl gains the ability to vote. So getting elected to the Dail once is enough to go into the pool of people who elect the Taoiseach but it is largely self-selecting. A lot of original fae in the Mound were Celtic Fae, but due to the melting pot nature of the city they were soon joined others: Brazilian: Caipora, Cherokee: Nunnehi, Finnish: Menninkainen,Islamic Jinn, Japanese: Youkai and Yousei, Kistune and Oni, Slavic: Domovoi, Kikimora, Scandinavian: Vittra, Māori: Tipua, Patupaihere, Nguni: Tokoloshe, West African: Aziza Obayfio, Yumboes etc.
